Does the free Screaming Frog version work with LinkJuice?
Does the free Screaming Frog version work with LinkJuice?
I only have the free version of Screaming Frog which is limited to 500 URLs. Can I still use it to generate a valid All Inlinks export for LinkJuice?
Re: Does the free Screaming Frog version work with LinkJuice?
Yes, the free version works perfectly with LinkJuice. The 500 URL limit applies to pages crawled, not to the number of links exported. Your All Inlinks export from the free version will contain all links found between those 500 pages, which could be tens of thousands of link pairs.
For small sites (under 500 pages), the free version is completely sufficient. For larger sites, you'll need the paid version or an alternative crawler.

Quick tip for anyone confused about orphans: filter out your pagination pages first (URLs with ?page= or /page/2/ patterns). These often show as orphans because the canonical points away from them, but they're not really missing links — they're just correctly de-indexed. Focus the orphan fix on unique content URLs only.

The redirect chain flag has been a goldmine for us. Found 847 internal links pointing to old redirect URLs after a CMS migration. Fixing those took two weeks but the crawl efficiency improvement was massive — Google started finding new content 3x faster based on our GSC coverage reports.
