How to get new pages ranking faster with internal links

I publish new blog posts but they take months to gain traction. I've heard that better internal linking can speed up indexing and ranking. What's the strategy?

Two things: immediately after publishing, add a link from your highest-PageRank page in the same topic cluster. This signals to Google that the new post is related and worth crawling quickly.

Also go back to your 5-10 highest-traffic posts in the same topic and add contextual links to the new post. Googlebot follows these quickly since it already crawls your popular pages frequently. Use LinkJuice to identify which existing posts have the highest internal PageRank — those are your best sources for new link equity.

Just to add to what's been said — I ran into the same issue last month. The key for me was checking the crawl was set to JavaScript rendering mode. That doubled the number of links Screaming Frog found and the LinkJuice PageRank shifted noticeably for several pages.

One thing I'd add: even if the scores look confusing at first, sort by PageRank descending and compare the top 10 against your GA4 sessions. The correlation is usually clear. High-traffic pages should also have high internal PageRank — if they don't, you've found a real problem.
